December 13, 2023, marks the 10th anniversary since the Regional Recommendation was forwarded to the State Department by the U.S. Entity.  The Regional Recommendation was the product of several years of collaborative work in the Northwest by nearly all major stakeholders with significant interests in the Treaty.

Yet another year ends and the region still waits. The Power Group and the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association have sent a letter to the Northwest’s Congressional Delegation. The letter urges action to modernize and revise the Treaty which is now years overdue and results in residents in the Pacific Northwest continuing to significantly overpay for the benefits of the Treaty.
